Bitfinex Securities Launches Tokenized Debt to Build Hotel in El Salvador

Bitfinex Securities revealed today its intentions to initiate a tokenized debt offering to raise $6.25 million. This capital will be used to develop a Hampton by Hilton hotel complex at El Salvador’s international airport.

The company, Bitfinex Securities El Salvador S.A. de C.V., is a major player in tokenized securities. Businesses leverage the blockchain to issue tokenized shares, bonds, and financial instruments for direct capital raising. This method streamlines access to investment opportunities and enhances market liquidity dynamically.

Furthermore, this tokenized debt issuance for the El Salvador airport hotel marks a milestone in the country’s digital asset industry. Earlier this year, Bitfinex Securities secured the first regulated license to operate in El Salvador under the new Digital Asset Securities Law.

Moreover, as previously reported, this license allows Bitfinex Securities to tap into investor demand for regulated crypto investment opportunities in El Salvador. The announcement states the token will be issued on the Liquid Network, a Bitcoin sidechain. Investors can trade the token against U.S. dollars and Tether’s USDT stablecoin.

Bitfinex Token Offering Spurs Economic Growth in El Salvador

Beyond the financial impact, this tokenized debt offering could spur economic growth and create jobs in El Salvador. Once the hotel complex is operational, the announcement targets generating 1,000 construction jobs and up to 5,000 jobs.

Furthermore, Roberto Laguardia, president of Inversiones Laguardia, commented: “The new digital asset laws give us access to capital markets we previously could not access. This will allow us to develop crucial tourism infrastructure, unlocking growth potential in the tourism sector and delivering economic benefits to all Salvadorans.”

Meanwhile, El Salvador continues positioning itself as a crypto hub. The Ministry of Education and the nonprofit Mi Primer Bitcoin introduced crypto education into public schools. This month, the first batch of students will graduate from the program.
